That might be true a lot of the time. I still just think that dating would be so much easier for all involved if men and women could be straight up about their intentions and what they want from each other.

I agree that we should be independent and whole within ourselves so we don't become "gravy" on someone else's mashed potatoes. But I hope I one day see a world where it's normal to just straight-up tell people that we like them and want to spend more time around them. And if the other person doesn't feel the same, they say so and we move on.
