Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for so perfectly articulating so much of what has been on my mind about this case. It's become so fashionable to hate on Amber Heard and completely trash her online while there is literal evidence that Johnny Depp abused her. It blows my mind how people have twisted around the actual facts of the case and made Heard into the lone abuser while Depp is just an innocent victim. Amber Heard doesn't fit the narrative of the "perfect female victim", so I guess it's easy for people to vilify her so they don't have to deal with the cognitive dissonance around realizing one of their heros might not be such a saint, after all.

And I don't know what Amber Heard has or hasn't done, but I've read experts who said even the idea that they "mutually abused" each other probably wasn't true, that "mutual abuse" is a myth because one person (in this case, Depp) typically holds a greater position of power and dominance in an abusive relationship. Regardless, the level of hatred and vitriol towards Heard -- and lack thereof towards Depp -- are beyond disturbing and awful.
