I respect your decision to be vegan, Nigel. However, I think that the attitude of "veganism or bust" is problematic and is going to alienate more than unite people who would potentially sympathize with the cause.

I think that if people would eat LESS meat, the planet would be in much better shape, but many people get turned off by the message that it's absolutely not acceptable to consume any animal product whatsoever. That simply isn't realistic for all of us.

My intent also wasn't to say what "everyone" should do, only to talk about my own experience and why going meatless wasn't ultimately workable for me. I salute those who can do it. But it did not work for me.
