Huh...this is an interesting perspective, but like others here I'm not sure I agree with your interpretation of Dwight. I did watch a couple of Office episodes recently and I just don't see the Proud Boy thing.

What I see in Dwight is a super awkward, naive, gullible man-child. I think he actually, in his own way, means well and tries to do the right thing, even if he has bizarre ways of going about it. I don't see anything that dangerous or menacing in him.

I would be wary of reading too much into a character like him, regardless, because as you mentioned, he's from a totally different time and place. And he's meant to be a caricature.
